→ Main Ingredients

01 - ⅔ cup sugar
02 - ½ cup butter, softened
03 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
04 - 1 large egg
05 - 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
06 - ½ tsp baking powder
07 - ½ tsp baking soda
08 - ½ tsp salt
09 - Green gel food coloring

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
02 - In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar, butter, and vanilla extract until creamy.
03 - Add the egg to the mixture and beat again until fully incorporated.
04 - Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to the wet mixture and mix until a smooth dough forms.
05 - Add green gel food coloring to the dough and beat again until the color is evenly distributed. Adjust the amount based on the type of food coloring used.
06 - Using a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop dough and roll it into round balls to form turtle bodies. Place them on a greased cookie sheet.
07 - Using a fork, press the dough balls down in two different directions to create a shell design. Ensure the cookies are about ½-inch thick after pressing.
08 - For each turtle, roll a small piece of dough for the head and four smaller pieces for the feet. Gently attach them to the turtle's body.
09 - Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes or until the bottoms start to brown.
10 - Transfer the baked cookies to a cooling rack and allow them to cool completely.
11 - Once the cookies are cooled, use an edible marker to carefully draw eyes on each turtle.
