Stuffed Cheesecake Fried Apple Pies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Apple Pie Filling

01 - 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
02 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
03 - 1/4 cup brown sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
06 - 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Cheesecake Filling

08 - 8 oz cream cheese, softened
09 - 1/4 cup powdered sugar

→ Assembly & Frying

10 - 1 package refrigerated pie dough (or homemade pie crust)
11 - 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
12 - Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
13 - Optional: cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar for dusting

# Instructions:

01 - In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for 5–7 minutes until apples are soft. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let cool.
02 - In a bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Set aside.
03 - Roll out pie dough and cut into 4–5 inch circles. Place 1 tsp cheesecake filling and 1–2 tsp apple filling in the center of each. Fold over, seal edges with a fork, and brush with egg wash.
04 - Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet or fryer. Fry pies in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and dust with cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar.
