Homemade Cheesy Breadsticks (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Breadsticks

01 - 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
03 - ¾ teaspoon salt
04 - 1 teaspoon sugar
05 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
06 - ½ cup warm water
07 - 1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)

→ For the Topping

08 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
09 - ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
10 - 2 tablespoons butter, melted
11 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add the olive oil and activated yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook. Cover the dough with a damp towel and let it rest for 15 minutes.
02 - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking sheet with olive oil or line it with parchment paper. Roll the dough into a 9×13-inch rectangle on a floured surface. Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice the dough into 12 strips.
03 - Arrange the dough strips on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the dough strips with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder if desired. Generously sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the dough strips. Add dried oregano or Italian seasoning for extra flavor, if desired.
04 - Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
05 - Let the breadsticks cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Serve with marinara sauce or your favorite dip.

# Notes:

01 - Mozzarella cheese offers a perfect melt and cheesy goodness, while parmesan cheese adds a sharp, tangy flavor to complement the mozzarella.
02 - Garlic powder and oregano are optional, but they enhance the flavor greatly if used.
