White Cheddar, Bacon, and Apple Biscuits (Print Version)

Savory biscuits with cheddar, bacon, and apple for a perfect balance of flavors.

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon baking powder
03 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 3/4 teaspoon salt (kosher or table salt)
05 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
06 - 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, very cold
07 - 1/4 cup fresh rosemary, chopped
08 - 1 medium-sized apple, peeled and chopped (small dice)
09 - 1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, grated
10 - 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
11 - 1 cup + 4 tablespoons heavy cream, divided

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
02 - In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Whisk to combine.
03 - Using a large cheese grater, shred the cold butter into the dry ingredients. Use two forks or a pastry cutter to work the butter into the mixture until it becomes a coarse meal.
04 - Stir in the rosemary, chopped apple, grated cheese, and crumbled bacon.
05 - Add 1 cup + 3 tablespoons of the cream and stir with a fork until a sticky dough is formed. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it into a smooth ball, about 6-7 turns.
06 - Pat the dough into a 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick round. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out as many rounds as possible, re-rolling the scraps as necessary.
07 - Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and brush each with the remaining cream. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
08 - Serve immediately. These biscuits make excellent breakfast sandwiches.
