Green Bean Casserole (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1.5 lbs fresh green beans, washed, snipped and halved.
02 - 1 tsp chicken bouillon.
03 - 10 slices bacon, chopped.
04 - 1 yellow onion, diced.
05 - 5 garlic cloves, minced.
06 - 8 oz baby bella mushrooms, finely chopped.
07 - 1/3 cup all purpose flour.
08 - 1/2 cup chicken broth.
09 - 2 cups heavy cream.
10 - 2 oz fresh parmesan cheese.
11 - 6 oz crispy French fried onions.
12 - 1 tsp garlic powder.
13 - 1 tsp onion powder.
14 - 1 tsp salt.
15 - 1 tsp pepper.
16 - 1 pinch nutmeg.

# Instructions:

01 - Boil water with chicken bouillon. Cook green beans for 5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Transfer to ice bath.
02 - Brown chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and keep the fat in pan.
03 - Sauté onion, garlic, and mushrooms in bacon fat for 7-8 minutes until soft.
04 - Add flour and cook for 3 minutes. Slowly whisk in broth and cream until thickened. Add seasonings and parmesan cheese.
05 - Mix in bacon and green beans. Transfer to baking dish. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Top with fried onions and bake 5 more minutes.

# Notes:

01 - Can be made 2 days ahead and refrigerated.
02 - Freezes well for up to 2 months.
03 - Reheats well in microwave.
