Slice the sub roll or ciabatta bread lengthwise and lay it open on a baking sheet.

Layer the salami, pepperoni, ham, and cheese on the bottom half of the bread.

Place the sandwich in the oven and toast for 6-8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.

Meanwhile, toss shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and banana peppers with olive oil, red wine vinegar, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl.

Remove the sandwich from the oven, add the prepared veggie mixture on top of the melted cheese. Spread mayonnaise or mustard on the top half of the bread if using, close the sandwich, slice in half, and serve warm.
