01 - 1 pound sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
02 - 1 small onion, grated
03 - 1 cup mayonnaise
04 - 1 cup chopped pecans
05 - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
06 - Strawberry preserves for serving

# Instructions:

01 - Start by toasting your chopped pecans in a large skillet over medium-high heat until they're fragrant and lightly brown. Set them aside to cool, saving a few tablespoons for garnish if you'd like.
02 - In a large bowl, combine your shredded cheddar, grated onion, mayonnaise, cayenne pepper, and those toasted pecans. Mix everything together until it's well combined.
03 - Using a rubber spatula, shape the cheese mixture into a ring on your serving plate. Cover it with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
04 - About 30 minutes before serving, take the ring out to come to room temperature. Sprinkle with your reserved pecans and spoon strawberry preserves into the center of the ring. Serve alongside your favorite crackers.
