01 -
You'll need to make five separate batches of Rice Krispie Treat mixture - one for each color: Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and Pink. Each batch will create about 5 eggs, for a total of 25 colorful Easter eggs.
02 -
Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Once melted, add 3 cups of mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they're completely melted and smooth.
03 -
Remove the pan from heat and add food coloring according to your desired egg color: Yellow (3 drops pink), Pink (4 drops pink), Purple (3 drops pink + 2 drops blue), Green (4 drops yellow + 1 drop blue), or Blue (4 drops blue). Stir until the color is evenly distributed.
04 -
Add 3 cups of Rice Krispies cereal to the colored marshmallow mixture and fold gently until all the cereal is completely coated. The mixture should be sticky but cool enough to handle.
05 -
Allow the mixture to cool slightly (about 1-2 minutes). Then, with slightly damp hands to prevent sticking, grab a handful of the mixture and gently shape it into an egg form. Place finished eggs on wax paper or parchment paper to cool completely.
06 -
Repeat the entire process for each of the remaining colors, making sure to wash and dry your saucepan between batches to keep the colors vibrant and prevent mixing.
