Easy German Potato Pancakes (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 large Russet potatoes
02 - 1 large egg
03 - 1/2 cup flour

→ Seasonings

04 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
05 - 1/16 teaspoon black pepper

→ For Cooking

06 - 2 tablespoons olive oil (or more as needed)

→ For Serving (Optional)

07 - Butter
08 - Maple syrup

# Instructions:

01 - Wash and peel potatoes. Add them to a food processor and process for at least 2 minutes.
02 - Scrape potatoes into a mixing bowl and add egg, flour, salt, and pepper. Stir with rubber spatula until combined.
03 - Heat sauté pan on medium heat. Add oil and heat up.
04 - Scoop dollops of batter into pan, cooking four at a time. Cook for 3 minutes on each side, until browned.
05 - Plate pancakes. Add butter (if using) and maple syrup.

# Notes:

01 - Russet potatoes work best for this recipe
02 - Can be served with sour cream, applesauce, stewed tomatoes, creamed corn, or cheddar cheese
03 - Stores in refrigerator in airtight container
04 - Can be frozen up to 3 months; reheat at 325°F for 10 minutes
