Chicken Chow Mein with the Best Chow Mein Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
02 - 12 ounces uncooked chow mein noodles
03 - 2 cups cabbage
04 - 1 large carrot, julienned
05 - ½ bunch green onions
06 - 2 garlic cloves
07 - 3 tablespoons oil

→ Chow Mein Sauce

08 - 6 tablespoons oyster sauce
09 - 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
10 - 3 tablespoons light sesame oil (not toasted)
11 - ½ cup chicken broth
12 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
13 - 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Whisk together oyster sauce, sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce, chicken broth and cornstarch in a small bowl. Set aside.
02 - Cook chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain, rinse with cold water and set aside.
03 - Heat oil in a large wok or pan over medium heat. Cut chicken into bite-sized strips and cook until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
04 - In the same pan, sauté carrots, cabbage and pressed garlic for a few minutes until vegetables are slightly softened and cabbage is translucent.
05 - Return chicken and noodles to pan. Pour sauce over and cook everything together for 2 more minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.

# Notes:

01 - When using cooked Chow Mein Noodles, use about 1 pound
02 - Can be served directly from the pan
