In a small saucepan, simmer halved cherries with 2 tablespoons of water for 3-5 minutes until soft. Gently mash to release more flavor.

Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Steep Earl Grey tea for 3-5 minutes, then remove tea bag or strain loose leaves.

Add milk to the saucepan with softened cherries. Heat gently while stirring. Optionally add cinnamon stick for extra spice.

Stir vanilla syrup into the milk and cherry mixture, adjusting sweetness to taste.

Pour brewed tea into a mug, then strain in the warm milk-cherry mixture, pressing cherries to extract all juice. Stir well. Serve hot or over ice, optionally garnishing with a fresh cherry or sprinkle of cinnamon.
