# Ingredients:

01 - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
03 - Beat softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes using an electric mixer.
04 - Add egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix until fully incorporated and smooth.
05 - Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
06 - Gently fold in fresh blueberries and lemon zest. If desired, add purple food coloring and mix until evenly colored.
07 - Form dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet. Flatten slightly and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
08 - Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Centers may look slightly underbaked. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack.
