# Ingredients:

01 - Homemade pie crust for top and bottom.
02 - 10 cups apple slices (8 large apples), peeled and cut ¼-inch thick.
03 - ½ cup granulated sugar.

02 - Mix sliced apples, sugar, flour, lemon juice, and spices until combined.
03 - Optional but recommended: Cook apple mixture in large skillet over medium-low heat for 5 minutes until slightly softened.
04 - Roll bottom crust, fill with apples. Make lattice top with strips of dough. Seal and crimp edges.
05 - Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes, reduce to 375°F and bake 35-40 more minutes with edges shielded.
06 - Cool for at least 3 hours before slicing to allow filling to set.
